This privacy policy covers the information relating to you that Saturn may collect, use, share, and process when you use the Saturn software and services, contact us, or otherwise interact with us, unless a different policy is displayed.

This policy also explains your choices about how we use information about you which include how you can object to certain uses of information about you and how you can access and update certain information about you. If you do not agree with this policy, do not access or use our Services or interact with any other aspect of our business.

Data we collect

Saturn may collect certain categories of data about you when you use our websites; use our services; receive our marketing communications; interact with our customer service and support teams; and in other contexts. The data we collect can be broadly categorized as follows:

Personal Data

This is individually identifiable data that you may choose to provide us. This may include basic information such as your email address and phone number, or more sensitive information such as your full date of birth or your payment information.

User Data

This is data that we collect from users of our services. User data could include personal data such as your unique Saturn user ID or account username and password, but sometimes this user data is anonymous or “pseudonymous”, i.e., it could be made identifiable if associated with personal data.

Location Data

This is data we collect that help us determine a location based on your IP address in order to customize our Service and for other uses consistent with this Privacy Statement.

We may combine all data, including your personal information, that we collect from our websites for our own statistical and analytical purposes. We may also share this combined information with third parties for our own promotional purposes.

Here are the principal contexts in which we may use, retain and share your personal and user data:

1.   Websites and Account Management: You may browse our websites without providing any personal data to us. However, if you choose to create a user account with Saturn, avail our subscription plans, sign up for marketing communications, or interact with our customer service teams or participate in a forum on our website, we will likely need to collect some personal or user data from you. In addition, certain tools that we use automatically collect data by default, such as IP addresses and other activity logs. This type of data is used for website security and site improvement purposes. Much of that data is not readily identifiable and is usually kept anonymous. In order to maintain and improve our websites, Saturn uses third party hosting, content management and security partners, vendors and suppliers.

2.  Sales: If you decide to purchase a service from Saturn, we will need to collect certain personal data from you, including payment-related information. Typically, we use third party partners, vendors and suppliers, such as payment processing companies during our sales.

3.  Marketing & Product updates: you may receive our monthly product update email and new feature announcements, we don’t indulge in extensive marketing but you can unsubscribe from our update emails.

4.  Product Registration: If you use Saturn services, you may choose to establish an Saturn user account. An Saturn user account profile may include your username, password, settings, preferences, contact information, device ID information, and related data. Saturn may share this information with others such as third-party hosting partners.

5. User Experience: We may collect your information to monitor and improve the performance of our products and services for administrative and security purposes and for our own internal functions, research and analytics and to provide you with better customer support.

Cookies Policy

Cookies are small pieces of data that are sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer. Websites, including Saturn’s sites, use cookies to help remind us who you are when you visit our site; to help you navigate our site during your visits; and to save preferences and shopping cart contents for you so you will not have to re-enter them.

We rely on a number of trusted 3rd parties to assist with our operations. Depending on the exact nature of your account and what you’ve requested we do, your data may be shared with one of these partners. Our service providers and partners are required by contract to safeguard any personal information they receive from us and are prohibited from using the personal information for any purpose other than to perform the services as instructed by Saturn.

Retention of Data

We may retain your personal data as long as any of the following circumstances apply:

a) Your Saturn account or subscription is active

b) To provide you with services or support that you have requested

c) To comply with applicable laws, including for tax and audit purposes

d) To enforce Saturn’s rights, including litigation and debt collection

Saturn does not sell personal data. If Saturn did decide to sell personal data at any point, we would provide appropriate notice and consent mechanisms to individuals as required by applicable laws.

Data security

Saturn is a set of developer tools (web app, browser extensions, desktop and mobile apps). Data is stored in the cloud as well as local, a part of data processing is done in the cloud. The main part of the processing is done locally at the end-user computer. The cloud part of Saturn is based on Firebase, which handles the user authentication and authorization, runs the database and provides secure storage. Firebase complies with all important standards like ISO 27001. The use of Firebase ensures that all data is encrypted during transit and storage.

Security Practices

To keep customer data safe, Saturn employs extensive security measures to minimize access, Saturn restricts access to select employees, who have a business purpose to access data.

Storage of Personal Information

The only personal information stored by Saturn is the login user email address, the user name as provided by the user and the country and continent, where the user was located, when the user account was created.

Authentication

Authentication is done using Firebase Authentication.

Cloud Firestore

Cloud Firestore is used to store all Saturn data. Saturn is set-up to use a database located in a data center physically located in the US.

Cloud Storage

Cloud storage for Firebase is used to store all documents uploaded to Saturn and to store back-ups.

Cloud Functions for Firebase

A limited amount of processing is needed at the backend and for that we use cloud functions for Firebase. The processing is done at the location, where the documents are stored.

Firebase Realtime Database

Firebase Realtime Database is used for administrative information, but contains no personal information. Firebase Realtime Database is located within the US.

Under this privacy statement and certain applicable laws, you may submit a request to Saturn to review, correct, amend or to delete your personal data.
